Before using your steam mop, follow these checks to help clean safely and protect your surfaces.
- Check surface suitability: Read the floor or fabric manufacturer’s care instructions and test a hidden area first. Only use steam on surfaces suitable for steam cleaning.
- Avoid sensitive surfaces: Do not use on unsealed floors, waxed or polished surfaces, leather, synthetic fabrics, velvet or other materials that may be damaged by steam.
- Prepare the floor: Sweep or vacuum first to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Fit the cleaning pad: Attach a clean pad evenly and ensure all connections are secure.
- Select the correct steam setting:
- Low steam: Suitable sealed wood, laminate and vinyl floors.
- High steam: Suitable stone, marble and tiled floors.
- Keep the mop moving: Do not leave the steam mop running in one spot, as this may damage the surface.
- Switch off when pausing: Turn off the steam mop whenever you stop cleaning.
Always refer to your model’s instruction manual for specific guidance on suitable surfaces and steam settings.
