If your steam mop is leaving streaks or milky marks, this may be caused by a dirty or overly wet pad, excessive steam or floor polish reacting to the heat.
Try the following:
- Use a clean, dry pad: Replace the pad if it is dirty or too wet.
- Reduce the steam setting: Use Low steam on suitable sealed wood or laminate flooring.
- Check your floor care instructions: Follow the flooring manufacturer's advice to ensure the surface is suitable for steam cleaning.
- Avoid waxed or polished floors: Steam can damage these surfaces or cause marks.
- Use water only: Do not add detergent, floor cleaner, fragrance or other chemicals to the water tank.
If the marks persist, stop steam cleaning the affected area and check the flooring manufacturer's cleaning recommendations.
