Follow these steps before cleaning to help ensure safe and effective use.
Prepare the Cleaner
- Position the unit: Keep the cleaner upright on a flat, stable surface.
- Check the surface: Follow the surface care instructions and test a hidden area first.
- Fill the clean water tank: Add tap water up to the MAX line, or use distilled water in hard-water areas.
- Secure the tank: Close the cap and refit the tank until it clicks into place.
Using Cleaning Products and Attachments
- Cleaning detergent: Never add detergent to the water tank. Apply a suitable low-foaming cleaning product directly to the stain, following the product instructions.
- Steam cleaning: Do not use detergent when steam cleaning.
- Upholstery brush: This attachment works with all four cleaning modes.
- Conical nozzle attachments: Tools fitted via the conical nozzle work in Steam Cleaning mode only and do not provide suction.
Important Steam Safety
- Wait for the ready indicator: In steam mode, wait until the flashing icon stays lit before pressing the trigger.
- Avoid direct steam exposure: Never direct steam at people, animals, plants, electrical sockets or electrical appliances.
- Cleaning glass: Do not direct steam at one area of glass for more than 2 seconds.
