Regular descaling helps remove limescale build-up and maintain steam performance. For the GO50004, the manual recommends descaling every 10–15 tank refills, or more frequently in hard-water areas.
How to Descale the Steam System
- Choose a suitable descaler: Use a gentle, non-abrasive descaler, ideally citric-acid based. Prepare it exactly as directed on the product instructions.
- Follow the manual: Fill the water tank with the prepared descaling solution and run it through the internal steam system according to the manual’s descaling procedure.
- Flush with clean water: Refill the tank with clean water and flush the system to remove any remaining descaler.
- Repeat if needed: Rinse again if any descaler smell remains.
Important Safety Information
- Keep the steam outlet safely directed away from people and electrical equipment throughout the procedure.
- Descaling is a maintenance procedure and is separate from normal cleaning, when the tank should be filled with water only.
- Always follow the GO50004 instruction manual when descaling the steam system.
